March Madness consumes most sports fans' lives from the very first game to the very last. Teams like Northern Iowa and Cornell have done their part to secure their place in NCAA tournament history. While most of the dominant teams are filled with rosters of mostly African American players, there's still hope for the white man...even if he can't jump.
Tonight the University of Kentucky Wildcats face off against the fighting "Andy Bernard's" of Cornell. While Cornell has been impressive thus far in the tournament, they are massive underdogs to the "dawgs" of UK.
I remember a time when white guys dominated the sport, like Larry Bird and Vlade Divac. True farm boys from the heartland of America. Remember Tony Kukoc? His name might lead you to think he's not American but I know a few Tony's and they're all from America, so there.
Now, all our baseball players are from Puerto Rico and our golfers are from Africa. Somebody asked me the other day if I wanted to see a picture of a tiger having sex in nature. Normally I'm totally down to watch a giant animal get it on in the wild but instead I was shown a picture of Tiger Woods photoshopped having sex with Ric 'Nature Boy" Flair. C'mon! Jack Nicklaus didn't have any sex scandals. Well, except for that one time he snorted blow off a hooker's back in "The Departed".
When was the last time you saw a highlight of Pete Maravich doing a windmill slam over some guy's head? Never happened. Throughout history, white guys can't jump. They even made a movie about it which I really loved. Wesley Snipes played the 57th passenger on a plane and the bartender from Cheers played some kind of serial killer with Juliette Lewis. There was some basketball in there, too, but the point is they showed us that white people can't jump very high. It brought me to tears.
I'm not saying we should have more white guys in basketball. Do you really want to see MORE schools like Duke out there? There is only so much hatred to go around. Larry Bird, Pete Maravich, Dan Majerle, Jason Kidd. There are plenty of white guys who can play basketball! The NBA logo still has a white guy dribbling so its not over for the caucasians just yet. The problem is, white kids don't play basketball at an early age anymore. Nowadays, they play soccer and lacrosse. You might as well just hand them a bag of weed when they're 10.
Basketball players are bigger and faster than ever before. They train all year long and take the types of nutrients needed to maximize performance. They lift weights and find new ways to jump higher than ever before. Except for the white players, they just find new and creative ways to shoot the "3".
To start with, though drafted in 1990 by the Chicago Bulls, he was not called over from Croatia until 1993, right after the first Bulls Three-Peat. So, 3 rings cheated (during which time he won Three Euroleague championships in a row - you do the math).

Finally, if you figure Kukoc to be the clutch shooter he was throughout his now-marred career (Milwaukee, seriously?), his play for the 3-Peat Lakers makes HIM the Spurs Free Agent steal of 2003. While experts can debate eternally whether he would've caused the flagrant fouls that led the Spurs to win in 2007, he definitely would've won with them in 2005, which would've resulted in 10 rings.
Just goes to show, the NBA, including white players like Matt Geiger, has always been prejudiced against Croatians.
